We have some excellent and modern facilities at Blackbrook to make your day out as special and as stress-free as we possibly can:
 Zoo Shop
Whilst visiting the zoo, don’t miss out on a look around the bright and airy shop as there really is something for everyone! The shop is situated in a huge converted barn and has windows that overlook several exhibits as well as the amazing entrance waterfall. Entwined within the floors and counter area are various tanks that are home to a variety of different fish.
The store’s not just a pretty face though, as it contains some fantastic gifts including a vast array of soft toys, collectables, souvenirs, clothing, toys and books as well as a great section of pocket money items.
 Scarlet Tearoom
The name Scarlet Tearoom was inspired by the amazing views of the pink aviary that can be enjoyed whilst having a drink or a bite to eat. The pink aviary, with its beautiful plants and collection of vibrant birds including flamingos and scarlet ibises, is situated at the side of the tearoom and can be viewed through the windows or out on the patio.
Throughout the day we freshly prepare a selection of tasty sandwiches served on a choice of breads and accompanied with a side salad.
We always have a tasty selection of homemade cakes and a particular favourite of our regular visitors is the scones served with fresh cream.
Now I know that the main reason people come to a zoo isn’t because of the tearoom . . . but our tearoom at Blackbrook is not like any other zoo tearoom! See for yourself the next time you visit and you’ll understand why our scones are as famous as some of the exhibits! Oh and the prices in the tearoom are not like other zoo’s neither, they’re extremely reasonable, so you won’t need to re-mortgage your house!
P.S. if you enjoy your lunch on the patio, watch out for stray peacocks as they have also become rather partial to our homemade scones!
Penguin Pop-in (seasonal)
Feeling peckish whilst watching the penguins dive for their food? Well don’t worry as next to the penguin exhibit is a kiosk selling ice cream, drinks and crisps and confectionery. At least you won’t have to dive into freezing cold waters to enjoy some little treats!
